Botkyrka is a town southwest of Stockholm, framed by lakes and bays of the great Lake Mälaren. Many inhabitants have moved in from other parts of the world.
I did a lecture on creativity under challenging circumstances. The audience was 10 “kulturchefer” - managers of departments related to culture and sports, within the city (all of them white Swedes). I spoke about Clowns without Borders and the remarkable people we meet during our expeditions, showed pictures from all over the world and a film from our West Bank Tour of 2006.
It’s interesting to think about that many of the people in Botkyrka have moved or escaped from the same places we visit on our expeditions. Hopefully some of them will be circus artists and complete the circle.
